This is the biggest temple, as well as the best preserved
, in the city. Constructed around the middle of the fifth century BC, it stands on a base with three steps and has a \b \cf4 \ATXht1107 Doric colonnade\b0 \cf0 \ATXht0 , with six \b \cf1 \ATXht3 columns\b0 \cf0 \ATXht0 on the short sides and fourteen on
the long ones. The \b \cf1 \ATXht1 architrave\b0 \cf0 \ATXht0 , frieze, and \b \cf1 \ATXht16 pediments\b0 \cf0 \ATXht0 are still in excellent condition. The interior of the temple is not complete but the gaps do not impede a perfect comprehension of it
s structure. After crossing the portico, one comes into the \b \cf1 \ATXht16 pronaos\b0 \cf0 \ATXht0 through an entrance made up of two columns set between the end pillars of the side walls.\par
